Summer Shoot

With it being almost a year since my last post I figured I probably should get on it. :) Here are some amazing pictures of a Summer Photo shoot I got to do hair and makeup for.

It was such a blast to be a part of this! The other collaborators were Ashtyn from Ashtyn Nicole Photography, Tiffany from Grown Up Dress Up, Celeste from Irene and Daughters (florals and props) and Jasmine (event coordinator)

My Favorite Drugstore Makeup Finds

I love makeup. Anyone who knows me well can testify to this. I think I drive my husband crazy when I buy anything new since I have drawers overflowing with a million different eyeshadows, eyeliners, blushes, etc. Some women craft, or cook, or sew. I..... collect makeup. What I really love finding and collecting is drugstore makeup. It's such a great feeling to spend a small amount and get a great product in return.
So I am going to share with you my favorite drugstore makeup finds.

1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I love this concealer! It goes on really smooth and layers nicely on top of my foundation. I especially like it for under my eyes cause it's not very heavy so it never creases.

2. Maybelline Bouncy Blush
The texture of this blush is really neat. It really is bouncy! It goes on very smooth and has a bit of shimmer to it. I like it the best when I apply it with my finger right onto my cheek bone. My only complaint is there are not enough colors to choose from!

3. NYX Matte Bronzer
I love that this is matte. Have you heard the makeup rule that you shouldn't wear more than one "shimmer" on your face? Well-- in my opinion there should not be rules when it comes to makeup. Whatever makes you feel pretty works. But as a guideline you might not want to have a shimmery eyeshadow, shimmery blush, shimmery bronzer, and shimmery lipgloss on all at the same time. Also, for anyone trying to highlight and contour-- this is a great bronzer for that. Just make sure you don't go too dark or orange for your complexion. (If you want to learn more about highlighting and contouring read here. ) She explains it perfectly!

4. Ardell Brow Defining Powder

If you are not huge a fan of using eyebrow pencil, try this stuff out! it goes on really smooth and is so easy to apply. I use eyebrow pencil when I want a more dramatic/defined look and the powder for a softer everyday look.

5. Loreal Voluminous Mascara
I saved the best for last! I have used quite a few different expensive mascaras and this one always outshines them! Stays on all day and really does make my eyelashes look fuller.

Hope you find a new drugstore favorite from one of these!

Vintage Photo Shoot

A couple weeks ago I got together with Ashtyn from Ashtyn Nicole Photography and we decided we needed to do a fun photo shoot! We wanted our models to have a "vintage" look. Our models, Becca, Alyssa and Hannah were totally willing to let me do whatever I wanted for their hair and makeup. It was such a fun day and I love how the pictures turned out!

Becca

Becca found her dress at a thrift store!! It was to die for. Her dress was so sleek so I wanted to do something more playful with her hair.

Alyssa

Alyssa is my gorgeous sister in law. If my daughters are half as pretty as her I will be thrilled. She was wearing her amazing grandmas wedding dress. It fit perfectly and is in 100 % great shape.

Hannah

Hannah is my managers daughter and she is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. And she is only 16! Can you believe it?! She was wearing a dress she wore to a school dance- so elegant! I wanted to give her a little more drastic makeup and simple hair style.

Thanks girls for letting my creativity run wild on you and Ashtyn for taking these pictures!
Can't wait to do another photo shoot. I will need some more models if anyone is interested!
